Stylist Tips for Party Season Dressing
30 November 2022
*Ping*, it’s the sound of your phone going off with another invite to a festive event. It’s the most wonderful time of the year, but also the busiest – when you need to have your party must-haves to hand right there in your handbag. We’ve got the best ones right here.
Our December Edit focuses on timeless, classic styles. The friends-in-handbag-form you’ll want by your side, whether you’re off to a glitzy party or meeting up for a quiet glass of mulled wine in the pub. It’s Christmas, why not team your Witham Road with a slinky dress?
We spoke with the fantastic Lorna McGee, Stylist and Fashion Editor – who was responsible for the incredible looks in our Winter campaign – to find out her expert tips for occasion dressing.
“Wear what makes you feel good. You’ll shine and feel confident if you're wearing your favourite colour, for example. Take risks in term of colour palette and colour combos. The dark nights need brightening up somehow.”
One of Team Radley’s favourite festive colour combos is this deep green snake-effect leather contrasted with the chunky gold chain on Winter Place. Definitely one for the work Christmas party.
Our Design Team are pros at multi-tasking - so you know the handbags they create are too. They know you don’t always have time to change when going from desk to dinner party this month, so they adapted a classic look for our December collection. Lorna detailed her approach to styling bags made with slouchy, soft leather like Hay’s Mews.
“I wanted to go bold and brave. We have gone past the stage of minimalist and comfortable clothing when we were all at home for long periods of time, now is the time to let our outfits sing. Bright colours against a monochromatic palette is modern, unexpected and for the approaching festive season, a perfect fit.”
“I adore Tulip Street, a classic bag with a twist. I think it's a super modern shape, can be worn day and night and the quality is fantastic. My style is quite classic, so for a party I'd probably style it with a slip dress and blazer draped over my shoulders.”
Thanks Lorna, and cheers to Tulip Street and the rest of our covetable Winter collection. There’s so much more to see in New In if you’re still looking for the perfect handbag – for a loved one or for yourself. There’s plenty of gifting inspiration over on Radley Stories.
