    Life Behind The Seams

    Radley's Collectibles Gour

Based in our craft hub in Kolkata, Gour has been honing his skills since he started as an artisan assistant in 1984.

"I had no idea that I was to become part of a great iconic story with Radley.

"It was in the year 2002 when I got introduced to the concept of 'picture bags'. At first it seemed an impossible task but as I went about creating the incredible detail of the graphic story, I developed a passion for it. I suddenly started discovering my hidden talents. This passion drove me for many years and continues to this day.

"Today looking back, I feel proud in having helped to create so many different designs of the unique Radley picture bags. May I stake claim to the title of 'The hands behind the Radley picture bags'?"

    Designed In Our London Studio

Among the leather swatches and moodboards, we spoke with members of our Design Team to find out a bit more about the history of these storied designs, and where they get their inspiration from.

    Radley's Design Studio

"We work closely with our artisan partners to push the boundaries of what's possible with our designs. Due to the hand-finished details it can take up to eight hours to complete the front panel of each collectible handbag."

    Sally, Senior Designer

"Since the beginning our picture bags have featured typically British scenes, one of the most memorable has to be our Coronation design. A collector's piece is such a special way to mark a historical moment."
